Viteslav Jaros – 8 – Got to switch goal again in the cup and looked confident, getting the ball out from the back and making a crucial save in the 13th minute when Tariq Lamptey cut in, as well as making an incredible save early in the second half in the 49th minute when Simon Adingra headed the ball home. There’s little to blame for the two goals conceded.

Andrew Robertson – 7 – Wearing the captain’s armband, leading the team and focusing on keeping the defense tight, but there were still some opportunities to add to the effort, such as in the 39th minute when he charged up to shoot at the near post, but his shot was saved in the nick of time.

Joe Gomez – 6 – Was a decent central defender, although he was a bit shaken when Brighton pushed forward at times, but eventually survived the win.

Jarrell Quansah – 5 – Despite not doing too bad throughout the game, he made a mistake in the final third, which led to a goal. He was also unlucky when Lamptey’s shot ricocheted off his leg and went in for another goal at 2-3, forcing Arne Slot to quickly take it off.

Conor Bradley – 5 – Back from injury, he returned to the starting line-up but had a tough time dealing with the ever-imposing Simon Adingra, who was almost completely out of his depth.

Standing deep in the midfield, he became an important interceptor in front of the defenders. He created important interceptions from the beginning of the game, as well as making some good passes. It was a shame that he didn’t last the entire game even though he started. He was taken off in the first set.

Tyler Morton – 6 – Didn’t do anything special, played the game, made pass. When he had to, and when he didn’t shine or perform well enough. He was duly taken off in the second half.
